Challenege
Properties of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts, specifically Lethbridge Lodge and Red Deer Lodge, were unable to make time sensitive updates at the property level to their own websites without enduring long corporate delays.
Solution
The introduction of a Drupal content management system was deployed with a simple to use back-end interface for multi-level permission based users to make adjustments from promotional offers to title tags and submission forms. The Drupal content management system was configured for content adjustments to be placed in an approval queue where they must be approved by the marketing office in Vancouver before becoming live. The content management system is duplicated and adjusted to serve the different properties throughout Canada. This alleviates resources spent on web development and maintenance, which serves as the long-term strategy of the organization.
Results
An outside development agency was hired and managed to complete this project based on a functional specification document. The system was then finalized and duplicated to serve multiple properties. Now, hotel staff are able to become more involved in regional marketing initiatives with support and direction from the corporate office.
